Sometimes I lay awake at night.
And think of how I wish.
I could be sleeping with you.
And whispering the journeys.
That we'll one day undertake.
And while you're giggling, too.
I'd distract you for a moment.
Just a second.
Disappearing, in the blink of an eye.
And while I stroke your stomach down.
I'd stare at you.
And giggle that I love you.
The day begins.
The light is shining.
Dimly through the rose-tinted and coloured glass.
Your arms are wrapped around my waist.
My hands are very cheekily.
Against your ass.
I wriggle from the covers.
Brush the hair out of your face.
And give your cheek a kiss.
And while I make some toast for two.
I think about.
How much I really love you.
Later on.
I run the water hot for us.
And open up the shower door.
Invite you in, and giggle, blush.
And witness parts of you.
I'd never seen before.
And after washing you.
And making very sure.
That I had cleaned behind your ears.
I'd gaze into your glowing face.
And stroke it with my thumbs.
And say I love you.
The time has come where we part ways.
And spend a few lone hours.
Of our day apart.
To put bread on the table.
So that afterwards we have.
A nice and early start.
To our candlelit and moonlight dinner.
Overlooking sunset-ravaged.
Sand and sea.
And scream out loud across the bay.
That I love you.
And hope you also love me.
Sometimes I lay awake at night.
And think of how I wish.
I could be sleeping with you.
But then I softly shake my head.
And watch you sleep.
And realize that it's all come true.
As the morning daylight breaks.
I wriggle from the sheets around you.
There's so much to do.
But I take the time to kiss your ear.
And whisper ever softly.
That I love you.
I love you...
I love you...
I love you...
