This is my first ever haiku on dA, so it's probably not that great.

I suppose it has parallels with the Australian Stolen Generations, but that was only an afterthought.

Interesting. I wouldn't call it a true haiku though - simply writing something in 5-7-5 doesn't make it a haiku. Most good haiku-in-English do not in fact stay with the 5-7-5 thing, which works much better in Japanese.
